A yearly flu vaccine is the most important step to protect yourself and others from the flu. Flu vaccine protects against the most common circulating viruses and can reduce illness, missed work and school, and prevent flu-related hospitalization. Everyone 6 months and older should get a flu shot. For those who cannot receive a flu vaccine, it is important that all close contacts are immunized to help protect them from the flu.
Health and Human Services will offer the Quadrivalent vaccine for adults and children six months and older. We also have high-dose flu vaccine for seniors age 65 and older. Adult flu vaccine is now available by appointment only, and cost $25 (cash or check only; Medicare Part B accepted). Please call 847-781-4850 today to reserve your vaccine. Children’s flu shots will be offered at the Children’s Clinic beginning Monday, October 2, 2017 by appointment only. The cost is $10 for Hoffman Estates and Schaumburg, $12 for all other communities (cash or check only, Medicaid Title 19 accepted). The nasal spray is not recommended this year.
Please call the Flu Hotline at 847-252-5441 for more information.
